The long life and low energy consumption of LED's is the reason the future of illumination belongs to them.

The LED is a solid, semi-conductive crystal, made up of several layers. When electricity flows through one of these layers, called the "active layer", light is emitted. Unlike conventional lights, which emit light in a continuous spectrum, LED's emit light in a particular colour. That colour depends on the semi-conductive materials which have been used – most often these are Gallium arsenide, Silicon carbide and Gallium Phosphide. To achieve the same result, conventional lights need to have a colour filter added, which not only increases their price, but also dims the light they emit. With LED's (which cover the entire visible spectrum of over 1.7 million colours and their nuances) both the colour control and light brightness are exceedingly flexible. This is achieved through controllers, which can be activated through either a remote control, or through your home PC.

LED's have the greatest light efficiency when compared with regular illuminants – between 50 and 100 lm/W, comparet to the 12 to 15 lm/W of heated wire lamps, or the 50 lm/W of luminescent lamps.

LED's contain no harmful admixtures or gases, do not emit heat nor ultraviolet or infra-red beams. They are easily and completely recyclable. This all turns LED's into the most eco-friendly solution which modern technology has to offer.

Their long operational life – over 10 years, compact size and reliability in case of vibrations, blows or other aggressive environments make them irreplaceable and highly-applicable in many situations.
